Game recap: BGSU men's basketball bounces back with win over Buffalo

BOWLING GREEN — Marcus Hill surpassed 20 points for the eighth straight game, Rashaun Agee notched his 11th double-double in the past 15 contests, and Bowling Green State University’s men’s basketball team topped Buffalo 87-73 in a Mid-American Conference game on Tuesday at the Stroh Center.

The Falcons bounced back from Saturday’s 77-76 double-overtime home loss to Central Michigan to improve to 16-7 (7-4 MAC). The Bulls fell to 2-20 (1-9 MAC).

Hill, the MAC’s leading scorer, finished with a game-high 27 points on 11-of-16 shooting. According to BGSU athletics, his eight consecutive games with at least 20 points is tied for the longest streak in the country this season with North Carolina’s R.J. Davis and Northern Colorado’s Saint Thomas. Hill’s is the only streak that is currently active.

BGSU shot 54.1 percent (33 of 61) from the floor. The field goal percentage and made field goals were both the second-highest of the season in their respective categories.

The Falcons also shot a blistering 89.5 percent (17 of 19) from the free-throw line, which was their highest of the season.

QUOTABLE

“It was huge [to bounce back from Saturday’s loss]. This week in practice, we really focused on that, trying to bounce back and trying to lock in for the two practices that we had. So just being able to focus on taking control of the paint, especially at home, and going out there and getting the win was big for us.” – Thomas.

UP NEXT

BGSU will take a quick break from league play when it travels to Louisiana at 3 p.m. Sunday in the MAC-Sun Belt Challenge.
