BGSU hockey continues winning ways at Ferris State

BIG RAPIDS, Mich. — Bowling Green State University hockey won for the seventh time in its past eight games, defeating Ferris State 4-3 on the road Friday night. The Falcons (12-7-3, 8-4-3 Central Collegiate Hockey Association) racked up a three-goal lead in the first period before an insurance tally in the third held off a Bulldog rally.

Maxwell Martin, Ryan O’Hara, and Ville Immonen provided the three early BGSU goals. Ferris State (6-15-2, 5-10-0) got goals in the second period from Jack Silich and Andrew Noel.

Brody Waters made it 4-2 Falcons early in the third, and Zach Faremouth’s response for the Bulldogs later in the period was too little, too late.

BG’s Christian Stoever made 39 saves on 42 shots while Noah West made 32 of 36 possible stops for Ferris State.

The Falcons defeated the Bulldogs for the third time in as many meetings this season. The teams meet again at 7:07 p.m. Saturday in Big Rapids.
