BOWLING GREEN — Bowling Green State University’s football team will travel to Nebraska for a nonconference game at Memorial Stadium on Sept. 12, 2026.
It will be the first meeting between the two programs. Nebraska will be the 14th different active Big Ten Conference opponent to face BGSU.
To make room for the Nebraska game, BGSU’s 2026 home game against Saint Francis has been moved to Sept. 5. BGSU’s previously scheduled 2026 matchup against Arizona State on Sept. 5 has been dropped and will not be rescheduled.
Bowling Green will also face Iowa State in 2026 on Sept. 19, one week after the Nebraska game. The Falcons still have one nonleague opening for the 2026 schedule.
Nebraska was originally scheduled to face Tennessee in 2026, but the game was canceled, and the BGSU contest was scheduled.
Nebraska, which has five national championships and more than 900 wins in its football history, finished 7-6 last season for its first winning campaign since 2016. BGSU went 7-6 in 2024, as well.
