BEMIDJI, Minn. — Jackson Jutting’s goal in the third period proved to be the game winner as Bowling Green State University hockey lost 3-2 on Friday at Bemidji State.
The Falcons, who were returning to Central Collegiate Hockey Association play after a weekend off, fell behind on Noah Quinn’s power-play goal 1:52 into the second period. Ben Doran equalized for BGSU about three minutes later.
The scoring flurry continued as Kirklan Irey restored the Beavers’ advantage at the 6:12 mark of the second and Doran notched his second of the night — this time on a power play — 9:07 into the period.
The 2-2 deadlock lasted until 6:13 into the third, when Jutting deposited the winner during another Bemidji State man advantage. The Beavers went 2 of 4 on the power play.
BGSU outshot Bemidji 24-19 in the loss, including 9-5 during the third period when the Beavers clinched the win. Cole Moore made 16 saves for the Falcons, and Mattias Sholl had 22 stops for the Beavers.
BGSU (15-11-4, 11-8-4) and Bemidji (12-15-4, 9-11-3) will drop the puck again at 7:07 p.m. Saturday in what will be the Falcons’ final regular-season road game.
