YPSILANTI, Mich. — Bowling Green State University’s men’s basketball team overcame a disastrous start to the second half to earn a critical 65-60 Mid-American Conference victory over Eastern Michigan on Tuesday at the George Gervin GameAbove Center.

The Falcons notched their fifth win in the past seven games to improve to 12-16 (6-9 MAC). Eastern Michigan had its three-game winning streak snapped in falling to 14-14 (7-8).

BGSU jumped out to a 35-19 lead at halftime, but Eastern Michigan started the first six minutes of the second half on a 17-1 run to tie the game at 36. The Falcons, however, never surrendered the lead and never trailed in the contest.

It was the fourth-straight game of at least 20 points for the 6-foot-2 guard, who also chipped in game highs of seven assists and five steals, as well as five rebounds.

DaJion Humphrey had a season-high 14 points (4 of 4 from 3-point range), and Derrick Butler tallied 11 points and five rebounds for BGSU.

Jalen Terry’s 14 points fronted Eastern Michigan. Jalin Billingsley added 13 points and eight rebounds, while Christian Henry had 10 points and Arne Osojnik 12 rebounds.

BGSU shot 46 percent overall (23 of 50), including 52.9 percent (9 of 17) from 3-point range for its second-best outing from beyond the arc this season. Eastern Michigan shot 41 percent (26 of 63) and 21 percent (6 of 28) from the floor and 3-point range, respectively; the Eagles were just 8 of 34 from the floor and 1 of 16 from deep in the first half.
