Studrawa played high school football at the former Fostoria St. Wendelin Catholic School. He was an offensive tackle at BGSU from 1984-87, including on the 1985 team that beat Kentucky and went undefeated in the MAC before losing the California Bowl to Fresno State.
He was a college football assistant coach for more than three decades, including a graduate assistant year at Ohio State in 1997, six years at BG from 2001-06, a national championship win with Louisiana State in 2007, and a return to Ohio State from 2016-21.
Studrawa coached in the European League of Football before returning stateside and accepting the IMG job.
“Of all the roles I’ve been fortunate enough to be a part of in my decades-long coaching career, IMG Academy is easily the one I am most excited about and the one I feel I can bring the most value to,” Studrawa said in a news release. “This is a place that puts the student-athlete at the heart of its purpose, and where everyone is bought into empowering the student-athletes to win their future — something I cannot wait to do.”
IMG’s football team attracts top recruits from around the country and plays a national schedule, regularly sending players to top college programs. Former IMG coach Billy Miller left this offseason to become a special teams assistant under Bill Belichick at North Carolina.
