BGSU hockey splits series at Minnesota State

MANKATO, Minn. — The Bowling Green State University hockey team completed a split of a two-game series Saturday at Minnesota State, losing 5-1 to the Mavericks.

Minnesota State (6-1-1, 3-1-0 WCHA) took control of a one-goal game in the third period, scoring three times to pull away.

Alec Rauhauser scored Bowling Green’s lone goal at 9:18 of the first period. The short-handed goal tied the game at 1 after Minnesota State’s Connor Mackey scored the game’s first goal at 8:39.

Marc Michaelis scored the go-ahead goal for Minnesota State at 18:29 of the first. Jared Spooner, Julian Napravnik, and Charlie Gerard scored in the third.
