BOWLING GREEN — Bowling Green State University running back Terion Stewart will miss his second straight game, while Ta’ron Keith is good to go for Tuesday’s Mid-American Conference home game against Toledo after both were game-time decisions due to right leg injuries sustained in recent weeks.
Stewart is missing his second straight game after suffering an injury in BGSU’s win against Ball State on Nov. 1. The 5-foot-9, 225-pound sophomore did not play in the Falcons’ 49-19 win at Kent State a week ago.
Keith, meanwhile, was injured late in the fourth quarter against the Golden Flashes after a historic game. The junior back had 130 receiving yards, 103 rushing yards, and two total touchdowns in becoming the first player in BGSU history to surpass 100 receiving and 100 rushing yards in the same game.
Keith, who had the game-winning touchdown in the final seconds of BGSU’s 42-35 win at Toledo last year, leads the Falcons in receiving (35 catches, 389 yards, three touchdowns) and is second in rushing (38 carries, 260 yards, two touchdowns).
Stewart has been one of the top backs in the MAC in ranking fifth in total rushing yards (762), tied for fourth in rushing touchdowns (eight), and second in yards per carry (6.1). Stewart’s 75 missed tackles forced are first in the FBS, according to Pro Football Focus, and his 93.1 rushing grade is tied for first.
