The Rockets (13-7, 7-1) shot 56 percent from the field and 42 percent from beyond the arc. They outrebounded the much taller Falcons 37-25 and only allowed four offensive rebounds to one of the top offensive rebounding teams in the country.

Toledo had a combined 41 points off turnovers (18), second-chance points (nine), and bench points (14). BG had 10, including zero bench points and just two second-chance points.

The Falcons (14-6, 5-3) led 19-9 in the first half but went more than five minutes without scoring, squandering an opportunity to take a big early lead.

QUOTABLE

“7-1 means nothing right now. Yeah, we’re excited. But I’m going to go home tonight, watch the film, and say, ‘Who cares? Let’s get ready for Western.” — Toledo coach Tod Kowalczyk

“Their offense was cooking. A few guys got hot. I think we let them get hot, though. Talented basketball team. They play well together. They share the ball well. It’s difficult when all cylinders are firing to stop them.” — Bowling Green center Jason Spurgin
