METAMORA — Eastwood went on a 11-0 run at the start of the fourth quarter to pull away from Evergreen in girls basketball action Friday.
Jamie Schmeltz scored 34 points to pace Eastwood. Abi Borojevich was Evergreen’s top scorer with 13 points.
Eastwood led 28-26 at halftime.
HOPEWELL-LOUDON 50, FOSTORIA 35
FOSTORIA — The Redmen dropped a home game to the Chieftains to open the new season. Hopewell-Loudon’s offense was sparked by Makayla Elmore, who knocked down a pair of 3-pointers on the way to a 21-point game. Morgan Searles hit two shots from deep. as well.
Tyriana Settles led Fostoria with 13 points.
LAKE 60, GIBSONBURG 34
MILLBURY— The Flyers start the year with a home win over the Golden Bears behind the shooting of Hayley St. John, who five 3-pointers in a 25-point performance.
Mya Staczek added 11 points.
Gibsonburg was led by Becca Morelock with nine points. Karina Seem and Emily Robers each added seven.
OTSEGO 53, NORTH BALTIMORE 27
NORTH BALTIMORE — Brynee Limes had 19 points as the Knights beat the Tigers.
Kylie Brinkman added 12 points for Otsego.
Leah Lee led North Baltimore with 12 points.
WOODMORE 67, PORT CLINTON 18
PORT CLINTON — Senior Katie Brugger dropped 18 points, including a pair of 3-pointers, as the Wildcats rolled to victory in their season opener.
Brooke Allen added 10 points.
Port Clinton’s Carli Laurel went 4-for-4 from the line in leading her team with 10 points.

EDON — Morgan Leppelmeier had 17 points to lead three Blackbirds players in double figures in beating the Bombers.
Elizabeth Beck had 13 points and Brandi Schnitkey had 10 for Pettisville.
Claire Radabaugh scored 10 points for Edon.
TOLEDO CHRISTIAN 42, LIBERTY CENTER 34
LIBERTY CENTER — Cat Jones scored 12 points to lead the Eagles to victory.
Trailing 19-17 at the half, Toledo Christian outscored the Tigers 25-15 in the second half.
Samantha Graber had seven to lead Liberty Center.
DELTA 45, SWANTON 17
SWANTON — Abby Freeman scored 11 and Brooklyn Green added 10 as the Panthers prevailed.
Kara Truckor paced the Bulldogs with six points.
