Girls basketball: Swanton edges Bryan in NWOAL battle

SWANTON 33, BRYAN 30

SWANTON — Averie Lutz scored 16 points as the Bulldogs squeaked out a Northwest Ohio Athletic League girls basketball win Friday against the Golden Bears.

Grace Oakes added 10 points for Swanton (4-5, 2-2 NWOAL).

Bryan (4-6, 0-2) was led by Kennedy Lamberson’s 10 points.

ARCHBOLD 55, WAUSEON 48

ARCHBOLD — The Blue Streaks claimed a 21-point halftime lead and held on for a NWOAL victory over the Indians.

Andi Peterson led Archbold (8-4, 2-0 NWOAL) with 23 points. Gabby Nafziger added 11 points.

Marisa Seiler scored 21 points and Sam Aeschliman added 11 for Wauseon (5-10, 0-2).

EVERGREEN 37, LIBERTY CENTER 34

LIBERTY CENTER — The visiting Vikings rallied from an eight-point deficit in the final quarter to claim a NWOAL victory over the Tigers.

Abi Borojevich led Evergreen (4-6, 2-2 NWOAL) with 11 points.

Perrysburg's Gracie Mitchell, shown blocking a shot in a game this season, put up 16 points Tuesday in a 40-20 win over Northview.

DELTA — Abby Freeman’s 32-point night helped the Panthers (12-0, 5-0 NWOAL) claim a league win over the Patriots.

Patrick Henry (4-7, 1-1) was led by Audrey Sonnenberg’s 10 points.

WHITMER 65, FREMONT ROSS 47

FREMONT — Mariah Hopings’ 19 points helped the Panthers capture a Three Rivers Athletic Conference victory over the Little Giants.

Rhegyn Blood added 14 points for Whitmer (8-5, 3-4 TRAC), and Abby Hickey had 13 points.

Fremont Ross (8-4, 3-4) was led by Jasannah Sabiers’ 12 points and Brooklyn Baptista’s 10-point night.

SPRINGFIELD 53, BOWLING GREEN 46

Tia Crape had 14 points in the Blue Devils’ win over the Bobcats in a Northern Lakes League battle.

Saiasia Gregory and Mia Rose each added 10 points for Springfield (4-8, 3-4 NLL).

Bowling Green (1-13, 0-8) got a 14-point game from Cate Korsnack.

NAPOLEON 63, MAUMEE 30

NAPOLEON — Shae Pedroza scored 17 points in the Wildcats’ NLL victory over the Panthers.

Napoleon (10-3, 5-3 NLL) also got a 10-point performance from Taylor Strock.

Brynn Brown topped Maumee (4-11, 1-7) with 10 points.

CARDINAL STRITCH 30, EMMANUEL CHRISTIAN 21

The Cardinals came out on top against the Warriors in a Toledo Area Athletic Conference matchup.

Samantha Turner led the way for Cardinal Stritch (2-11, 1-5 TAAC) with 18 points.

Madison Miller scored 11 points for Emmanuel Christian (1-6, 1-4).

TOLEDO CHRISTIAN 65, MAUMEE VALLEY 34

At home, the Eagles (9-3, 5-0 TAAC) rolled to a TAAC victory behind the scoring of Ella Zaborowski with 15, Jackie Norman (11), and Abby Yambert (10).

The Hawks (3-12, 2-5) were led by Shannon Herrmann with 16 and Samantha Bailey with 10.

OTTAWA HILLS 43, NORTHWOOD 23

The Green Bears posted a TAAC victory over the Rangers.

Abbie Westmeyer had 10 points and eight rebounds for Ottawa Hills (7-3, 5-1 TAAC).

Corey Fry scored five points for Northwood (4-8, 3-3).

PETTISVILLE 42, MONTPELIER 24

MONTPELIER — The visiting Blackbirds pulled away in the second half for a Buckeye Border Conference victory.

Morgan Leppelmeier led Pettisville (10-3, 7-1 BBC) with 14 points. Mikayla Graber added 11.

Ariel Page scored six points for Montpelier (4-8, 3-5).

STRYKER 67, HILLTOP 31

STRYKER — Emma Grime scored 30 points to lead the Panthers to a BBC win over the Cadets.

Courtney Stewart added 16 points for Stryker (11-1, 6-1 BBC).

Alex Horton scored 13 points for Hilltop (1-11, 1-7).

SALINE 57, BEDFORD 56

TEMPERANCE — The visiting Hornets came away with a close Southeastern Conference win over the Kicking Mules.

Ella Stemmer scored 23 points to lead Saline (7-0, 1-0 SEC).

Savanna Killinen topped Bedford (5-1, 0-1) with 16 points. Aubrie Zeunen and Madison Norton each added 11 points.
