High School Football: Springfield earns dramatic NLL victory over Northview

SPRINGFIELD 27, NORTHVIEW 26

Springfield (2-4, 2-1) intercepted Northview’s (3-3, 1-2) Trent Simms’ pass with 50 seconds remaining as the Blue Devils held on for the win at home.

Springfield’s Josiah Pressley had 16 carries for 78 yards and two touchdowns.

PATRICK HENRY 27, EVERGREEN 14

HAMLER, Ohio — TJ Rhamy ran for 104 yards and threw for 128 more as host Patrick Henry (5-1, 2-1) topped Evergreen 27-14 in a Northwest Ohio Athletic League football game on Friday night.

Corbin Johnson rushed five times for 90 yards and two touchdowns for the Patriots.

Jacob Riggs caught two passes for 52 yards and a touchdown for Evergreen (4-2, 2-1).

WAUSEON 41, SWANTON 14

WAUSEON — Wauseon (5-1, 2-1) compiled 571 yards of offense in a home win over Swanton (1-5, 0-3). The Indians ran for 391 yards and three touchdowns as a team, and Tyson Britsch took 17 carries for 131 yards.

Cody Figy threw for 133 yards and two touchdowns for the Indians.

For Swanton, Josh Vance ran a kickoff back 80 yards for a touchdown in the second quarter.

WOODWARD 22, BOWSHER 0

Woodward (1-5) earned its first win on the season as it shut out Bowsher (2-4) on the road.

Preston Reasonover had 25 carries for 186 yards and a touchdown for the Polar Bears. Dominic Chizmar completed eight of 12 passes for 118 yards.

ST. FRANCIS 16, FINDLAY 7

FINDLAY — St. Francis de Sales (5-1, 3-0) got a win on the road behind Dayven Kizer, who was 11-of-19 passing for 207 yards and two scores. He hit Charles Green for 15 yards, and Antwain Ulis for 54 for another score.

Ulis rushed for 115 yards on 11 carries.

The Trojans (2-4, 1-2) scored in the fourth quarter when Garit Krupp found the end zone from three yards out.

ST. JOHN’S 37, FREMONT ROSS 13

Brady Lichtenberg was 15-for-21 for 219 yards and three touchdowns as the host Titans defeated the Little Giants in a Three Rivers Athletic Conference game.

Thomas Zsiros caught two touchdown passes and Jack Ryder had one for St. John’s (3-3, 1-2). Gary Batch returned an interception 38 yards for a touchdown.

Cyrus Lagrou had a five-yard touchdown run for Fremont Ross (1-5, 0-3).

WHITMER 31, LIMA SENIOR 0

LIMA, Ohio — Jared Banks had 33 carries for 186 yards and scored three total touchdowns as the Panthers remained undefeated (6-0, 3-0) on the season with a shutout win over Lima Senior (2-4, 0-3).

Banks scored touchdowns of 38 yards (receiving), 22 yards (run), and one yard.

ANTHONY WAYNE 49, BOWLING GREEN 0

Mason Alberts passed for two touchdowns and ran for two more as Anthony Wayne (6-0, 3-0) cruised past Bowling Green.

Alberts found Bobby Miller for a 15-yard touchdown connection and hit Ben Wyrick on a 2-yard score. Alberts also rushed for scores of 53 and 16 yards as he racked up 104 yards on eight carries.

Ezra Scott added 12 carries for 132 yards and a 7-yard score.

Eli Brown rushed for 86 yards to lead Bowling Green (2-4, 1-2).

NAPOLEON 49, MAUMEE 0

NAPOLEON — The Wildcats (3-3, 2-1) defended their home turf as they rushed for 338 yards and six touchdowns.

Justin Alderich had two scoring runs and also had a reception for a score. Autavian Fields, Andrew Warncke, Jarrett Gerdeman, and Haydon Speaks added touchdown runs.

Zach Marvin was 12-of-22 passing for 115 yards for the Panthers (1-5, 1-2).

PERRYSBURG 49, SOUTHVIEW 10

Perrysburg (4-2, 2-1) scored all 49 points in the first half as the Yellow Jackets earned a road win at Southview (1-5, 0-3).

Perrysburg quarterback Drew Sims completed 10-of-13 passes for 182 yards and three touchdowns. Nic Kilbride caught four passes for 80 yards and two touchdowns.

ROSSFORD 28, GENOA 7

Kyle Kromenacker passed for 178 yards and two touchdowns, and Trent Backmayer rushed 20 times for 97 yards and two scores to lead Rossford (4-2, 2-1 NBC).

Kromenacker connected with Ben Morrison for a 25-yard score and found Jamiri Croom on a 46-yard TD. Croom finished with three catches for 107 yards.

Ray Gomez carried 19 times for 171 yards for Genoa (2-4, 2-1 NBC).

EASTWOOD 49, WOODMORE 7

PEMBERVILLE, Ohio — Justin Pickerel rushed 13 times for 112 yards and a touchdown, and Jaden Rayford added 10 carries for 103 yards and one score as the Eagles remained undefeated.

Pickerel and Rayford each caught a touchdown pass from Jared McNulty, who was 6-of-7 for 103 yards for Eastwood (6-0, 3-0).

Weston Angel had a touchdown run for Woodmore (0-6, 0-3).

LAKE 45, OTSEGO 7

MILLBURY, Ohio — Tyler Saffran and Jackson Delventhal connected for three touchdowns as Lake (2-4, 2-1) earned a win at home over Otsego (3-3, 1-2).

Saffran completed 10 passes for 166 yards, and six of those went to Delventhal, who charted 154 yards receiving.

EDON 49, OTTAWA HILLS 14

EDON, Ohio — Drew Gallehue completed 12-of-15 passes for 180 yards and four touchdowns as Edon defeated Ottawa Hills in a Toledo Area Athletic Conference game.

Dylan Mason ran for 103 yards and a touchdown on 12 carries for the Bombers (3-3, 2-1 TAAC), who scored three times in the second quarter. Mason opened the second half with a 76-yard kickoff return for a touchdown.

Blake Gnepper had a touchdown run for Ottawa Hills (4-2, 2-1).

NORTHWOOD 50, HILLTOP 14

Anthony Williams rushed for 140 yards and three touchdowns as Northwood cruised at home. Williams scored on runs of 18, 1, and 8 yards to help the Rangers (6-0, 3-0 TAAC) remain unbeaten.

Rangers quarterback Jay Moten was 5-of-7 for 135 yards and two touchdowns. He hit Dalton Dempsey for a 17-yard TD and found Desmond Marks on a 41-yard TD.

Alex Swany-Richmond had two touchdowns for Hillltop (1-5, 0-2).

TINORA 39, MONTPELIER 0

DEFIANCE — Tinora (4-2) piled 384 yards of offense on Montpelier (1-5) in a shutout win at home. KP Delarber took six carries for 89 yards, including a 61-yard touchdown run.

Cole Commisso and Christian Commisso combined for 107 yards on the ground.

OAK HARBOR 42, VERMILION 0

OAK HARBOR — Jac Alexander passed for two touchdowns and rushed for another as Oak Harbor (6-0) stayed unbeaten.

Alexander was 8-of-10 passing for 115 yards and found Tyler May on touchdown passes of 13 and 25 yards. Alexander also rushed eight times for 73 yards and a 23-yard touchdown.

Clay Schulte added touchdown runs of 6, 13, and 33 yards for Oak Harbor.

GIBSONBURG 48, LAKOTA 14

KANSAS — Hunter Smith led a powerful ground attack for Gibsonburg with 20 carries for 173 yards and two touchdowns. The Golden Bears racked up 435 rushing yards.

Jon Auld added five carries for 148 yards and two rushing TDs for Gibsonburg (6-0), and Theo Hernandez chipped in with eight carries for 104 yards and two scores.

For Lakota (1-5), Trevor Franks ran the ball 37 times for 205 yards and scored two touchdowns.

HILLSDALE 35, BLISSFIELD 28

BLISSFIELD, Mich. — Brock Woodward rushed 25 times for 233 yards and two touchdowns as Hillsdale earned a road win.

Zach Kornak added 20 carries for 98 yards and two TDs for Hillsdale.
