High school basketball: Evergreen boys see 33-game win streak end

BOYS

EDGERTON 37, EVERGREEN 31

METAMORA — The Edgerton Bulldogs used a 12-4 fourth-quarter advantage to defeat the Evergreen Vikings 37-31 in a nonconference boys basketball game on Saturday.

Evergreen’s streak of 33 straight victories, dating to last season, was ended.

SWANTON — The host Bulldogs used the scoring of Trent Weigel (14 points), Josh Vance (13), and Andrew Thornton (12) to get a win.

For the Knights, Joseph Dzierwa led with 11 points.

LIBERTY-BENTON 68, ELMWOOD 63

FINDLAY — Josh Reindel scored 20 points, and Ben Spiess pitched in 18 as Liberty-Benton earned a home victory.

Bryce Reynolds scored a game-high 27 points for Elmwood (3-5). Kade Lentz added in 23.

GIRLS

DELTA 62, EVERGREEN 46

METAMORA, Ohio — Delta earned a girls basketball victory behind a 20 points from Brooklyn Wymer.

Khloe Weber scored 12 points, and Reagan Rouleau followed with 11 for Delta.

Jordan Lumbrezer and Jocelyn Schuster each posted 11 points to pace Evergreen.

NAPOLEON 44, WILLARD 41

NAPOLEON — Taylor Strock scored 16 points, and Caely Ressler added 14 points as Napoleon earned a home win.

The Wildcats (8-1) handed Willard (8-1) its first loss of the season.

ARCHBOLD 62, WAYNE TRACE 42

ARCHBOLD — Karsyn Hostetler and Kylie Sauder led Archbold with 13 points each, while Leah McQuade and Harley Phillips added 12 and 10 points respectively.

MONTPELIER 64, EDGERTON 40

EDGERTON, Ohio — Ariel Page posted a game-high 22 points for Montpelier. Chelsea McCord followed with 15 points, Emily Fritsch had 13, and Jessi Bumb totaled 12.
