High school football: Whitmer holds off Clay in NLL crossover

Brady Ford completed 15 of 19 passes for 277 yards and three touchdowns as visiting Whitmer (1-2) beat Clay 49-21 in a Northern Lakes League crossover game.

Clay quarterback Mason Heintschel threw for 230 yards and two scores on 16-of-26 passing, but it wasn’t enough for the Eagles (2-1).

Whitmer built a 35-8 halftime lead with two Ford touchdown passes and two scoring runs by Jasen Kelly.

High school football: Top performers for Week 3

Reddick and Rocco Pillarelli combined to score five total touchdowns as the visiting Green Bears (3-0) built a 42-0 halftime lead and cruised to a win over the Bulldogs.

Reddick Pillarelli scored once on the ground and twice via passes from quarterback Chase Miller. Rocco Pillarelli, who ran for 163 yards, scored once on a carry and once with a reception.

Drake Harris scored the lone touchdown with a 61-yard run for the Bulldogs (0-3).

MAUMEE 42, BOWSHER 0

Chase Maulucci ran for 102 yards and two touchdowns as the visiting Panthers (2-1) blanked the Blue Racers (0-3).

Cody Wulf ran for 81 yards and one touchdown for Maumee. Bowsher was held to 68 net yards of offense, with Jordan Singer completing 5 of 17 passes for 51 yards.

ANTHONY WAYNE 35, BOWLING GREEN 6

Grant Kinnee ran for 145 yards, including an 87-yard touchdown run, on seven carries and completed 5 of 7 passes for 53 yards and two touchdowns as the host Generals posted a victory in Northern Lakes League crossover play.

Cadence Carswell ran for 44 yards and two touchdowns on five carries for Anthony Wayne (2-1).

Reece Rath had a 10-yard touchdown run for Bowling Green (2-1).

PERRYSBURG 49, FREMONT ROSS 20

FREMONT — The Yellow Jackets scored 49 points in the first half and coasted to a Northern Lakes League crossover victory over the host Little Giants.

Perrysburg’s Abram Hire started the scoring by picking up a fumbled punt and returning it 32 yards for a touchdown.

Nick Oros ran for two scores, while Yellow Jackets quarterback Josh Takats was 8 for 17 for 221 yards and two touchdowns.

Fremont Ross quarterback Karson Kayden completed 10 of 22 passes for 195 yards and two touchdowns, a 66-yarder to Elijah Simms and a 27-yarder to Tykell Patterson.

EVERGREEN 32, ROSSFORD 6

The Vikings reeled off 32 straight points, with Trevor Johnson and Memphis LaPoint both returning interceptions for touchdowns, to win a nonleague game at Rossford (1-2).

Bryce Bolger completed 23 of 38 passes for 249 yards and a touchdown for Evergreen (2-1). Riley Dunbar had seven catches for 140 yards and a score, and returned a punt 49 yards for a touchdown.

DELTA 38, LAKE 28

Delta rushed 54 times for 249 yards as a team led by nine rushes for 75 yards and two touchdowns by Caleb Lantz.

Carl Warner added touchdown runs of 20 and 19 yards. Landon Griesinger returned an interception 70 yards for a TD.

Lake’s Carter Behlmer was 17 of 27 passing for 282 yards and four touchdowns with two going to David Parsons.

WOODMORE 40, CARDINAL STRITCH 16

ELMORE, Ohio — Jack Caldwell scored the first three touchdowns and totaled 77 rushing yards on 11 carries to lead the Wildcats past the Cardinals in nonleague play.

Landon Rich tallied 116 rushing yards on nine carries with a 30-yard score for Woodmore (1-2). Blake Kamelesky was 9 of 22 for 91 yards and two scores for Cardinal Stritch (1-2).

LAKOTA 15, NORTHWOOD 13

At Northwood, Lakota’s Gabe Garlick tackled Northwood’s Brandon Mielke in the end zone for the game-winning safety in the fourth quarter.

Lakota’s Micah Williams rushed 13 times for 110 yards and a touchdown. Northwood’s Zaegan Byington carried 14 times for 52 yards and two scores.

OAK HARBOR 42, PORT CLINTON 0

OAK HARBOR, Ohio — Jaqui Hayward scored on a 84-yard punt return and a 77-yard pass from Michael Lalonde in the Rockets’ nonleague win over the Redskins.

Hayward finished with 115 receiving yards on five grabs, while Lalonde was 16 of 21 for 250 yards and two touchdowns for Oak Harbor (3-0). Gabe Koskela was 8 of 17 for 77 yards for Port Clinton (2-1).

LIBERTY CENTER 45, OTSEGO 0

LIBERTY CENTER, Ohio — Trenton Cruse led Liberty Center (3-0) with 137 yards and three touchdowns (27 yards, 5, 25), while Colton Kruse had 128 yards on nine carries with a 55-yard touchdown run. Cam Kahle had a 50-yard interception return for a touchdown in the first quarter.

Cohen Leiter ran for 30 yards on nine carries for Otsego (0-3).

WAUSEON 14, EASTWOOD 7

PEMBERVILLE — Trey Parsons found Tyson Rodriguez for touchdown passes of 22 and 65 yards as Wauseon held off Eastwood. Eastwood got a 2-yard touchdown pass from Kadyn Donnell to Kaiden Sanchez.

GENOA 21, HURON 20

HURON, Ohio — Genoa scored 21 unanswered points to earn the victory over Huron.

Genoa running back Aidan Antry rushed 28 times for 109 yards and scored the game-winning touchdown in the fourth quarter.

Comets quarterback Aiden Brunkhorst was 17 of 19 passing for 163 yards and a touchdown to Alex Spencer and added a 1-yard TD run.

ELMWOOD 46, MT. BLANCHARD RIVERDALE 32

BLOOMDALE, Ohio — Brennan Hiser racked up 243 rushing yards and three touchdowns on 37 carries to pace the Royals to win their Blanchard Valley Conference debut game against the Falcons (2-1, 0-1 BVC).

Pierson Parsons threw touchdowns of 13 and 44 yards to Brady Maraches for Elmwood (1-2, 1-0 BVC).

LIBERTY-BENTON 34, ARLINGTON 30

FINDLAY — Mason Modd scored four touchdowns (15 yards, 8, 26), including an 84-yard kickoff return, to lead the Eagles to a Blanchard Valley Conference victory over the Red Devils.

Modd rushed for 134 yards on 15 carries and also threw a 3-yard touchdown pass to Seth Elchert.

BRYAN 67, SHERWOOD FAIRVIEW 46

SHERWOOD, Ohio — Sam Herold ran all over the Fairview defense for 263 yards and five touchdowns in a shootout on the road against the Apaches (0-3).

Jase Kepler completed 15 of 23 passes with two touchdowns for Bryan (2-1) and ran for 125 and three scores.

PATRICK HENRY 40, COLUMBUS GROVE 28

HAMLER, Ohio — Nash Meyer completed 16 of 19 passes for 373 yards and three touchdowns as the host Patriots improved to 3-0 against Columbus Grove (1-2).

Houston Miranda ran for 131 yards and two touchdowns on 23 carries.

MONTPELIER 34, EDGERTON 28

MONTPELIER, Ohio — Hayden Sharps’ 20-yard run in overtime lifted the host Locomotives (2-1) to a nonleague victory.
