Longtime boys basketball coach Keith Diebler announced his retirement on Wednesday.
Diebler, who began his coaching career in 1977, spent the past five seasons at Danbury.
A 1970 graduate of Colonel Crawford, Diebler made 10 stops in his career that spanned six decades. He had a career record of 415-444.
In 2005, Diebler led Upper Sandusky to a Division II state title. His son Jake was a senior, and his younger son Jon was a sophomore on that team.
Diebler started his career at Plymouth High School, and also had stops at Gibsonburg, Bowling Green, Fostoria, Genoa, and Lakota. He also was an assistant coach at Bowsher, and coached the volleyball team at Danbury.
He finished his career at Danbury (30-87 record). The Lakers went 3-20 last season.
Diebler's son Jake was named the head coach at Ohio State University on Sunday.
