The Ottawa Hills Local Schools head football coach has been charged with misdemeanor domestic violence after an incident last month.
According to court documents, Brandon Carter allegedly attempted to cause physical harm to the mother of his children on March 6.
The warrant states Carter repeatedly pulled on the woman’s arm and dragged her by her arm while she was holding one of her children. The woman stated to the officer that her arm was sore after the incident.
Mr. Carter took over as head football coach in January of 2023 after serving as the assistant coach. He is listed on the district’s website as a paraprofessional at the junior/senior high school.
Ottawa Hills superintendent Adam Fineske said, “He is on paid administrative leave pending resolution from the investigation.”
A trial date of April 26 has been set.
