STATE COLLEGE, Pa. — Perrysburg junior wrestler Marcus Blaze, who is competing in the U.S. Olympic Team Trials at Penn State University this weekend, went 3-1 in his matches in the freestyle 57-kilogram weight class.
DAY 2
■ Consolation Round 3: No. 11 seed Blaze beat fellow high-schooler and No. 9 seed Luke Lilledahl, 5-1.
■ Consolation Semifinal: No. 3 seed Dalton Fix forfeited, putting Blaze in the consolation final for third place.
■ Consolation Final: Blaze defeated No. 10 seed Jax Forrest, a fellow high-schooler, 8-1 in the third-place match to earn a spot on the national team.

DAY 1
■ Championship Round 1: No. 11 seed Blaze lost 4-2 to two-time NCAA champion and No. 6 seed Nick Suriano from Rutgers/Michigan on a late takedown.
■ Consolation Round 1: Bye.
■ Consolation Round 2: Blaze defeated No. 5 seed Nico Megaludis, a former NCAA national champ and three-time All-American at Penn State, by a 2-2 criteria decision.

■ Up next: Blaze will wrestle No. 9 seed Luke Lilledahl on Saturday morning. Blaze beat Lilledahl 3-2 in the 113-pound finals of the Ironman in 2021.
