Anthony Wayne boys tennis defeats St. Francis, advances to state tournament

Anthony Wayne will be northwest Ohio’s representative at the Ohio Tennis Coaches Association’s Division I boys state tournament.

The Generals defeated St. Francis de Sales on the road in Friday’s district final, advancing to the four-team state tournament set for May 25 in Wooster, Ohio.

Singles player Josh Kohntopp and doubles teams Logan Sutto/Ian Briars and Geyer Tollstam/Reed Hahn won their respective matches for AW to clinch the dual. The Generals knocked off Perrysburg, Southview, and St. John’s Jesuit on their way to reaching Friday’s final.
