Girls wrestling: Fremont Ross, Findlay, Delta wins girls sectional crowns

Fremont Ross, Findlay, and Delta secured girls wrestling sectional championships Friday.

Clyde Sectional

CLYDE, Ohio — Fremont Ross finished with 179.5 points. Tinora (164.5) was second and Vermilion (122) third.

Fremont Ross’  Jaiden Long (120 pounds), Brooklyn Koebel (155), and Keyonna Vann (235) won their weight classes.

Tinora’s Bella Graziani (100) and Paige Gamby (170), Clyde’s Avery Gaskalla (105) and Meredith Greenslade (115), Rossford’s Noel Reinhart (110), Vermillion’s Alyssa Woodward (125) and Cora Frederick (130), Seneca East’s Kiera Depinet (135), Mansfield Madison’s Estella Koppert (140), Ashland Crestview’s Naomi Gearheart (145) and Tiffin Calvert’s Allison Ott (190) also won individual crowns.

The top four finishers in each sectional earned district berths.

FINDLAY — The hosts finished with 196 points followed by Gibsonburg (166) and St. Marys Memorial (135.5) in second and third, respectively.

Findlay’s Kate Simmons (170 pounds) and Laney Oliver (190) claimed individual championships.

Gibsonburg’s Lilly Zwiefel (100), Allison Schroeder (115), and Morgan Leonhardt (120), Sandusky’s Nikera Johnson (105), Arcadia’s Charlize Distel (110), St. Marys Memorial’s Ava Price (125), Danielle Hoskins (130), and Mataya Patterson (155), Patrick Henry’s Illy Schwiebert (135), Bridgette Rice (140) of Delphos St. John’s, Fostoria’s Ariana Espinosa-Snowden (145), and Liberty-Benton’s Evie Parmelee (235) also finished first in their weight classes.

Archbold Sectional

ARCHBOLD, Ohio — Despite having no individual champs, Delta (178.5 points) secured the team title followed by second-place Celina (139.5) and third-place Archbold (96).

Celina’s Ava Kelley (100 pounds), Elmwood’s Triniti Bechstein (105) and Lylah Gheen (110), Wauseon’s Kaelynn Hartsock (115) and Amya Hallett (145), Paulding’s Civil Pumphrey (120), Napoleon’s Alyssa Johnson (125) and Evanie Shank (130), Clay’s Karina Espinosa (135), Start’s Hannah Richards (140) and Billie Crowder (170), Archbold’s Vivi Legato (155) and Gabby Oregon (235) and Port Clinton’s Michaela Stork (190) were first-place finishers.
