Eight hockey players from northwest Ohio, including four from St. Francis de Sales, have earned All-Ohio recognition.
St. Francis senior forward Drew Tucker and junior forward Jaxon Duncan were named to the all-state first team. Knights junior defenseman Brady Mitchey earned a spot on the second team and senior goaltender Carson Dirkmaat was named to the third team.
Northview had three players who earned All-Ohio honors. Senior John DelVerne earned a spot on the second team, junior defenseman Carter Tillman made the third team, and sophomore forward Liam Elliott received honorable mention.
Bowling Green senior forward Rhett Winger also earned all-state second-team honors.
No. 2 ranked St. Francis (30-7-0) reached the state semifinals and fell in overtime 3-2 to No. 3 St. Ignatius (28-9-0). The Knights won the Northwest Hockey Conference Red Division with a 12-0 record.
Tucker, who had a goal and an assist in the state title game, finished the season with 102 points in 37 games. He scored 54 goals and had 48 assists. Tucker finishes as the program's all-time leading scorer with 239 points (119 G, 120 A).
Duncan led the Knights with 107 points (62 G, 45 A), while Mitchey had 26 points (1 G, 25 A). Dirkmaat finished with a 25-7-0 record.
No. 6 Northview (25-9-4) reached the regional final.
DelVerne led the Wildcats with 74 points (34 G, 40 A) in 36 games. Tillman had 25 points (9 G, 16 A) and Elliott tallied 70 points (21 G, 49 A) in 38 games.
No. 15 Bowling Green (24-11-0) reached the regional semifinals.
Winger finished the season with a program-record 102 points. He also set the program record in assists with 72 to go along with 30 goals.
