CHAMPAIGN, Ill.— Michigan will be without wide receiver Nico Collins and cornerback Lavert Hill against Illinois.
Neither player made the road trip with the team because of “minor” injuries, according to a Michigan spokesman.
Collins is one of the most targeted receivers on the team. He has made at least one reception in 19 consecutive contests dating back to the 2018 Outback Bowl. Last week against Iowa, he led the team with 63 receiving yards, including a 51-yard reception in the first quarter. He has 13 total receptions this season, two touchdowns, and 269 yards.
Hill was named to the 2019 preseason All-American second team. He has at least one pass breakup In four of Michigan’s five games this season, and has 11 total tackles.
Tight end Erick All was also ruled out for the Illinois game. He’s got playing time in all five games this season at tight end.
In other injury news, Dylan McCaffrey, Sean McKeon, and Kwity Paye were all in uniform during pregame warmups. McCaffrey suffered a concussion against Wisconsin, and McKeon was injured in the same game. Neither has played since.
Paye was injured in the second half of last week’s Iowa game. As he walked off the field, he appeared to grab at his left hamstring, but there has been no official injury specifics released.
