Moore is rated as a three-star safety, per 247sports' composite rankings. He is rated as the No. 22 safety in the nation and the No. 378 overall recruit. The 5-11, 180-pound Moore is from Clayton, Ohio, and attends Northmont High School. He’s ranked as the No. 12 recruit in the state.
He accumulated 24 total offers, and at Michigan he was recruited by defensive coordinator Don Brown and new safeties coach Bob Shoop. His other Big Ten offers came from Iowa, Maryland, Wisconsin, and Indiana. He also received offers from Toledo, Bowling Green, Kent State, Miami, Ohio, Western Michigan, Akron, Ball State, and Eastern Michigan in the Mid-American Conference.
Moore is the 13th commit in Michigan’s 2021 class, the sixth commit on the defensive side of the ball. All of Michigan’s defensive commits are three-star prospects, and Moore is now the highest-rated defensive recruit in the class.
On Saturday, the program added Tyler McLaurin, a three-star linebacker out of Bolingbrook, Ill.
With Moore’s commitment Michigan has risen from the No. 11 class in the nation to the No. 8 class in the nation. Michigan has the No. 4 class in the Big Ten, trailing Ohio State, Minnesota, and Iowa.
