COLUMBUS — After winning the first five games of the series, the Toledo Mud Hens dropped the finale of their six-game set Sunday at Columbus, losing 10-3.
Chris Roller’s three-run double in the sixth inning was the decisive blow for Columbus (9-12), putting the Clippers up 6-3.
Jhonkensy Noel connected on his fourth home run of the season, a three-run shot, in the seventh to give Columbus its final margin of victory.
Toledo (14-6) picked up its only runs in the fourth inning on a three-run home run by Ryan Kreidler, his third homer of the season.
Columbus opened scoring in the third on a two-run single by Bo Naylor.
Thomas Ponticelli (1-2) picked up the win in relief for Columbus, allowing one hit while striking out two and walking one in two innings of work. Jace Fry (1-1) took the loss.
Toledo opens a two-week homestand Tuesday when it hosts Syracuse in a 6:05 p.m. start. Neither team has announced a starter.
