COLUMBUS — Ohio State has added another highly touted player to its 2020 recruiting class.
Charlotte Providence Day four-star defensive lineman Jacolbe Cowan committed to the Buckeyes, bringing their class to No. 3 in the nation, behind Clemson and Alabama.
Cowan, a 6-foot-5, 262-pound tackle, is ranked 15th overall at his position and 165th in his class. He is the 12th four-star commitment in coach Ryan Day’s 2020 class and the highest rated defensive lineman.
The Under Armour All-American chose the Buckeyes over Georgia and North Carolina. Ohio State was the only school at which he took an official visit.
Charles Power of 247Sports compared Cowan to the Green Bay Packers’ Quinton Dial and projects Cowan as a Day 3 NFL draft pick.
The Buckeyes now have 23 commitments for the 2020 class. They hosted official visits for four-star running back Kevontre Bradford (Lancaster, Texas) and four-star defensive end Tyler Baron (Knoxville, Tenn.) last weekend.
