ALCS postponement bumps Buckeye game to Big Ten Network

The Ohio State-Northwestern football game on Friday had a television home. Then, it didn’t. Now, it does, once again.

Originally scheduled to air on FS1 at 8:30 p.m. EST, the Buckeyes were bumped to the Big Ten Network.

Wednesday’s Game 4 of the American League Championship Series between the Houston Astros and the New York Yankees was postponed as rain and other inclement weather was forecasted. With Game 5 originally scheduled for Thursday, Major League Baseball decided to keep the Thursday date for Game 4, and push Game 5 back to Friday, originally scheduled as an off day, at 7:08 p.m. EST.

With the ALCS Game 5 now scheduled for Friday, coupled with Fox’s recently acquired rights from USA Network to televise WWE’s SmackDown on Fridays from 8-10 p.m. EST, college football takes a back seat. The ALCS has been booked to air on Fox Sports 1, while Friday Night SmackDown will remain on Fox as scheduled.

Ohio State-Northwestern will kick off from Evanston, Ill. on Friday at 8:30 p.m. EST, and the game will be televised on the Big Ten Network.
