COLUMBUS — Ohio State football is returning ever so slowly.
The Woody Hayes Athletic Center reopened Monday to a limited number of staff. Coaches have access to their offices, and support staff are able to enter the building.
In all, 25 staff members have access to the facility, though it’s under extreme measures. Their entry will be staggered, and they can only occupy their offices for three days per week at a maximum of three hours per day.
To access the building, staff members will have their temperatures taken. Once inside, social distancing guidelines are enforced, and people are encouraged to wear masks. No more than 10 staff members are permitted in a room at the same time.
Athletes have not been cleared to return and essentially all areas of the building are closed except for offices. Organized team activities are suspended until at least June 1.
Ohio State is expected to announce plans for its fall semester by mid-June.
