Fostoria native Micah Hyde has signed a two-year extension with the Buffalo Bills, the team announced on its website Friday.
The multi-year deal will extend through 2023 and is worth $19.25 million, according to multiple reports.
Hyde had a combined 70 tackles and one interception from his safety spot in the 2020 season. The eight-year veteran earned Pro Bowl honors in 2017 and was named second team All-Pro that same season.
Hyde is the NFL’s 12th-best performer at safety since 2019, according to Pro Football Focus. Over his career, he accumulated 509 tackles and 17 interceptions.
Hyde graduated from Fostoria in 2009 after he was Ohio's Division IV offensive player of the year as a senior. At the time of his graduation, he held 17 school records.
He was a 2013 fifth-round draft pick out of the University of Iowa by the Green Bay Packers, where he spent four seasons before signing with the Bills as a free agent in 2017.
