The University of Toledo picked up its ninth commitment for the 2023 recruiting class Monday, a three-star defensive back from Indiana.

Nicholas Thompson, a 6-foot-2, 185-pound cornerback from Bishop Luers High School in Fort Wayne, Ind., is rated as the No. 25 overall player in the Hoosier State by 247 Sports.

In addition to Toledo, Thompson had offers from Ball Sate, Army, Central Michigan, Navy, Western Michigan, and Northern Illinois.

In 2021, Thompson had 44 tackles and four interceptions. He also averaged 32.5 yards on 10 kickoff returns. In 2020, he had an interception and 17 passes defended.

Thompson is the second defensive back to join the Rockets’ 2023 recruiting class.
