Here are updates from Saturday’s college football game between Toledo and Central Michigan. This story will be updated following each quarter.
FOURTH QUARTER
Central Michigan had an opportunity to cut UT’s once 31-3 lead to 31-24 but came up short. When Thomas Zsiros jumped on a Dequan Finn fumble in the end zone, UT’s 21-point lead was too much for the Chippewas.
THIRD QUARTER
A 47-yard touchdown pass (and two-point conversion) pulled Central Michigan to within 20 points, and the Chippewas were inside the 10-yard line getting ready to add another touchdown when Toledo’s Darius Alexander knocked the ball out of quarterback Daniel Richardson’s hand. UT recovered.
SECOND QUARTER
Toledo played its best 15 minutes in years during the second quarter, outscoring Central Michigan 28-0. The Rockets outgained CMU 159 yards to 57 yards, as Dequan Finn threw two touchdown passes and Micah Kelly and Jacquez Stuart each ran for one score.
FIRST QUARTER
The quarter ended with a 3-3 tie, but Toledo is on the move after a 41-yard pass from Dequan Finn to Devin Maddox. The Rockets have the ball on the Central Michigan 1-yard line.
Thomas Cluckey connected on a 45-yard field goal.
