CLEVELAND — Here are updates from Friday’s Toledo basketball Mid-American Conference semifinal game against Ohio. This story will be updated throughout the game.
SECOND HALF
One to go.
Toledo hasn’t been to the NCAA tournament since 1980, but the Rockets are 40 minutes away from a return to March’s Big Dance.
UT pulled away from Ohio in the second half, shooting at least 50 percent for the eighth consecutive game.
RayJ Dennis scored 28 points to lead the Rockets.
MID-SECOND HALF
Toledo and Ohio are continuing their march to an exciting finish in the MAC semifinals.
The Rockets and Bobcats are trading baskets amid an energized Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse.
MAC player of the year RayJ Dennis has 17 points. Ohio’s Jaylin Hunter has a game-high 19 points.
HALFTIME
Toledo shot 52 percent in the first half but only leads by six. The biggest reason is Ohio’s nine offensive rebounds.
RayJ Dennis and Dante Maddox, Jr., each scored 13 points, matching OU’s Jaylin Hunter, who has three 3s.
Ohio shot 35.3 percent and 4 of 17 from beyond the arc.
MID-FIRST HALF
Toledo trailed 8-4 in the early minutes, as Ohio’s Jaylin Hunter scored all eight points. In the teams’ only meeting this season, he had 10 points.
But the Rockets responded with seven straight points and OU went scoreless for more than four minutes.
Five different UT players have scored.
