University of Toledo outfielder Garret Pike was named a Third Team All-American by the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA)/Rawlings on Friday.
Pike is Toledo’s third All-American selection in the last four years, joining MLB draft picks Chris Meyers in 2021 and Jeron Williams in 2023.
The junior batted .360 with 21 home runs, 55 runs batted in, and 13 stolen bases for the Rockets this season. Defensively, Pike, the Rockets’ center fielder, recorded 130 putouts and two assists to just one error on the season, stats that helped him earn Mid-American Conference All-Defensive Team honors.
In early May, Pike broke both the single-season and career home run records for Toledo during a one-week span.
He hit his 17th home run of the season on May 7 in a game against Oakland, surpassing Pike’s former teammate Mason Sykes for the single-season mark. Just three days later, another homer hit by Pike against Notre Dame put him at 39 for his career, an all-time Toledo record.
Pike has 42 home runs hit across three seasons — including 21 alone during the 2024 campaign.
In the MAC tournament for the Rockets, the Anthony Wayne High School graduate went .353 (6 for 17) at the plate with a home run and five runs scored. Pike was named to the MAC All-Tournament Team with his performance.
Other postseason awards accrued by Pike were First Team All-MAC, ABCA/Rawlings First Team All-East Region, and College Sports Communicators Academic All-District.
