Toledo football lands Michigan state finals record-setter

Kadale Williams was not the highest-ranked member of Toledo’s 2025 recruiting class.

But the three-star running back might have the most videogame-like stats.

The 6-foot-1, 180-pound Williams rushed for 2,611 yards and 43 touchdowns in 12 games, leading Jackson (Mich.) Lumen Christi to a Michigan High School Athletic Association-record 14th state championship.

During his career, Lumen Christi won three state titles. And he went out in style with a state-finals record 314 rushing yards and five touchdowns.

Jackson (Mich.) Lumen Christi star running back Kadale Williams has committed to the University of Toledo football team.

Williams committed to Central Michigan over the summer but de-committed in October, prior Jim McElwain’s retirement. He’s listed as an athlete by 247Sports and ranks as the No. 23 player in Michigan. He’s a top-100 athlete nationally.

His only FBS offers were Central, UT, Bowling Green, and Eastern Michigan.
