The path to the NFL draft will take former Toledo Rockets Darius Alexander and Maxen Hook to the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis.
Alexander and Hook will go through drills, a battery of medical tests, and be available for extensive interviews with franchises later this month.
In January, Alexander was a standout performer at Senior Bowl practices in Mobile, Ala., earning praise from draft analysts, front office personnel, and opposing players. The 6-foot-4, 304-pound defensive lineman was named the top player at his position in a vote by offensive linemen. In the Senior Bowl game, Alexander had one tackle for loss, a tackle for no gain, and several quarterback pressures.
Hook, a safety, went through drills but was held out of the game with an injury.
Defensive linemen are scheduled to work out Feb. 27 and defensive backs Feb. 28.
The combine will be a homecoming of sorts for Alexander and Hook, two Indiana natives. Alexander was a second-team All-MAC selection in 2024 and third-team in 2023. He set career highs in tackles (40) and tackles for loss (7½) this past season and had a memorable 58-yard pick-six in Toledo’s six-overtime victory over Pitt in the GameAbove Sports Bowl.

Hook was a four-time All-MAC recipient, the third Toledo player to earn that distinction. He led the Rockets in tackles (107) in 2024, recording 356 tackles, seven interceptions, and 15 pass breakups over five seasons.
