University of Toledo senior Kylee Graham posted her first career no-hitter in the Rockets’ 8-0 five-inning home victory Friday against Akron at Scott Park.
Graham, who moved to 4-7 on the season, finished with five strikeouts while walking three. The Florida Southwestern College product lowered her earned-run average on the season to 4.80 and has four complete games in 13 starts and 20 appearances.
Freshman Samantha Bolding secured Graham her gem with a two-run homer in the bottom of the fifth to end the game on the run rule. Senior Sidney Griffith, sophomore Eliza Maloney, and freshman Audrey Miller also each had a home run as the Rockets reached double-figure hits for the sixth time in their last seven games.
The Rockets are 8-18 on the year and 3-4 in the Mid-American Conference. Akron is 4-17 overall and 1-5 in the MAC after the series opener. The same foes will play a doubleheader at the same venue at 1 p.m. Saturday.
