The Toledo Walleye extended qualifying offers to eight players Monday.
Each ECHL team is entitled to reserve the rights to a maximum of eight qualified players.
The players on Toledo's list are goaltender Billy Christopoulos, forwards Hunter Garlent and Brandon Hawkins, and defensemen Ryan Lowney, Blake Hillman, Trevor Hamilton, Randy Gazzola, and Ryker Killins.
Toledo retains the ECHL rights to those players if they don't sign with a team at the higher American Hockey League level.
The qualifying offer must remain open for acceptance until Aug. 9, at which time the qualifying offer becomes null and void and the team may sign the qualified player to any salary or may elect to take no further action.
ECHL teams are allowed to reserve the rights to a maximum of four veterans — players that have appeared in 260 or more regular-season professional games.
Players who had already signed a contract by July 23 did not need to receive a qualifying offer.
