Hawkins scores twice as Walleye win at Cincinnati

CINCINNATI — The Toledo Walleye scored three goals over the final two periods and came away with a 5-2 win over the Cincinnati Cyclones on Saturday at Heritage Bank Center.

Brandon Hawkins scored twice in the third period for Toledo, one on a power play and one with an empty net.

Keeghan Howdeshell and Mitchell Heard scored in the first period for the Walleye as the teams headed into the second period tied at 2-2. Jesse Schultz and Louie Caporusso were the goal-scorers for the Cyclones.

Toledo's Ian Parker scored in the second period on what turned out to be the game-winning goal before Hawkins' insurance goals in the third.
